Thrifting has been a total lifestyle for me. Not only do you save money, but you get a chance to come out with some major pieces that will style you even in a budget.! My favorite thing to do is to gather up some friends and we take a day to explore a few thrift spots at a time. Its a very relaxing way to hang with friends.. And we ALWAYS have money for a satisfying meal after our fashion forward day.!
A few tips for thrifting
1. Go in with a clear open mind: you never know what you will find so always be ready for the best or the worst of stores.
2. Always research before you make your move: while its more than okay to search every store for awesome pieces, some stores tend to be overpriced. Always make sure your getting the best bang for your buck!
3. Set a budget: setting a budget can always help to maintain and take charge of your money BUT GIRLS!!! I promise you that most times you wont even spend all of the money that you budgeted with.! What a relief right?
4. Always look for sales on top of sales.! At my latest visit to a thrift store named OUT OF THE CLOSET (see picture), they offered $5 off of your entire purchase if you agreed to take a HIV/AIDS test. After a few health questions, the test took literally 2 minutes... No needles just a finger prick and you get $5 off.! .. CANT BEAT THOSE SAVINGS!
5. WASH.! WASH.! WASH.!: its important to always wash the clothes before you wear them.! Even though certain stores wash them before they put them out, always wash them.! They might be yours now but you wont know their history so make sure you tap into the hygiene factor and wash before you wear.
LADIES.! Always remember that ONE GIRLS TRASH IS ANOTHER GIRLS TREASURE.!
